"ON THAT DAY"

Sunday (AM), July 2, 2017

Zechariah 14:9

"l belong to no one!!"

1. I'm as free as a bird!
2 1 don't need anyone, I'm no animal!
3, What I mean is I don't need you!

"On that day" only those who love the Lord will belong (trust) to the Lord (Jeremiah 39:17-18). And for those who "belong (trust in) to no one", what will happen to them. (Psalm 146:34)

I believe that Paul addresses the problem in the world today and our responsibilities as Christians (Ephesians 4:14-15).

Jesus said to His disciples, "l am the Way, the Truth, and the Life." (John 14:6)

Listen to what "the Truth" has to say about "LOVE":

1. Matthew 22:36-40: "Love the Lord" and "Love your neighbor as yourself,"
2. Matthew 5:4348: "Love your enemy."
3. John 13:34-35: "Love one another."

Loving others is not an option, see 1 John Paul teaches us in 1 Corinthians 13, "If I have not love, I am nothing."

In closing, we began this message with "on that day" and I believe it is fitting to end the message there. (John 16:26-27).

Zechariah 14:9

And the Lord will be king over all the earth. On that day the Lord will be one and his name one. (ESV)

Jeremiah 39:17-18

17 But I will deliver you on that day, declares the Lord, and you shall not be given into the hand of the men of whom you are afraid. 18 For I will surely save you, and you shall not fall by the sword, but you shall have your life as a prize of war, because you have put your trust in me, declares the Lord.’” (ESV)

Psalm 146:3-4

Put not your trust in princes,
in a son of man, in whom there is no salvation.
When his breath departs, he returns to the earth;
on that very day his plans perish. (ESV)

Ephesians 4:14-15

14 so that we may no longer be children, tossed to and fro by the waves and carried about by every wind of doctrine, by human cunning, by craftiness in deceitful schemes. 15 Rather, speaking the truth in love, we are to grow up in every way into him who is the head, into Christ, (ESV)

John 14:6

Jesus said to him, “I am the way, and the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. (ESV)

Matthew 22:36-40

36 “Teacher, which is the great commandment in the Law?” 37 And he said to him, “You shall love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind. 38 This is the great and first commandment. 39 And a second is like it: You shall love your neighbor as yourself. 40 On these two commandments depend all the Law and the Prophets.” (ESV)

Matthew 5:43-48

43 “You have heard that it was said, ‘You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.’ 44 But I say to you, Love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, 45 so that you may be sons of your Father who is in heaven. For he makes his sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust. 46 For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? 47 And if you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? 48 You therefore must be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect. (ESV)

John 13:34-35

34 A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another: just as I have loved you, you also are to love one another. 35 By this all people will know that you are my disciples, if you have love for one another.” (ESV)

1 John 4:11-12

11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we also ought to love one another. 12 No one has ever seen God; if we love one another, God abides in us and his love is perfected in us. (ESV)

1 Corinthians 13:2

And if I have prophetic powers, and understand all mysteries and all knowledge, and if I have all faith, so as to remove mountains, but have not love, I am nothing. (ESV)

John 16:26-27

26 In that day you will ask in my name, and I do not say to you that I will ask the Father on your behalf; 27 for the Father himself loves you, because you have loved me and have believed that I came from God. (ESV)
