Who We Are

We are an embassy of the Kingdom of God in Arthur City, Texas. Our doors are open to all. If you are searching for a Church home, please visit us.

Throughout the Gospels, we see Jesus call to repentance and forgive the worst of sinners. Jesus was a on a mission while on this earth to offer salvation to all who will believe. The basic mission of Christ while upon this earth was to fulfill God’s plan of saving the lost. We are trying to continue that mission because we know that Jesus lives and will save those who humbly place their faith in Him (Matthew 11:28-30).

Founded on July 4, 1948, Arthur City Baptist Church  is a historical church. We are also Historically Minded. We want to understand the Scriptures in the context in which they were written. Seeking to understand the Bible as the original writers and readers would have understood it.

We have an Ecumenical Heart. What is an Ecumenical Heart? The heart is the central or innermost part of something. Ecumenical means worldwide or general in extent, influence, or application; of, relating to, or representing the whole of a body of churches; promoting or tending toward worldwide Christian unity and cooperation. Essentially; A Ecumenical Heart is the belief that the heart of God’s Church is universal and world wide regardless of denomination. This unity of the church is what we desire, long for and work towards.
